Religious Education for Children
We pray for the many people whose lives have been torn apart by terrorism and conflict in the Holy Land
Religious Education for Children, commonly called catechism, is presently “under review” during this time of Covid restrictions as we discern whether “in person” lessons will be permitted or if we will be restricted to “home studies.”
The goal is to have:
Sessions for children in Grade One. This is a general introduction to the faith and the text used is the Faith and Life Series by Ignatius Press.
For students in Grade Two we begin a two year Sacramental Preparation Program based upon a text published by the Archdiocese of Denver entitled, Saints Among Us, which is a program for the restored Order of Initiation. In the first year children are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and in the 2nd year for the Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist.
Following the sacramental preparation program, young people are encouraged to continue their studies and we return to the Faith and Life Series to assist us.
