Funeral Planning
The loss of a loved one is a time of sadness, perhaps confusion, and even stress. We are able to assist you through this time and ensure that a considerate and appropriate Catholic liturgy is provided.
All the Catholic faithful have a right to receive the sacramental funeral rites and burial at St. Francis Xavier cemetery regardless of the state of your loved one's participation in the life of the Church. Meeting with our coordinator can provide answers to all your questions and guide you through the steps. Your first step is to contact the parish immediately, before meeting with the funeral director to plan the funeral Mass and burial.
While many choose to have a Memorial Mass with the ashes present (and this is certainly permitted) it is important to realize that the Church desires to have the body present at the funeral Mass, even if cremation is to follow.
